Both Millwall and Watford want second league win

Despite being unbeaten in the WSL 2 so far, Millwall Lionesses have only won one game from six, and the London side will be hoping for all three points against struggling Watford Ladies on Sunday.

The Hornet’s come in to the fixture following their first win of the season against Aston Villa last time out, having lost all their previous games bar one – a goalless draw at home to this weekend’s opponents back in April.

Watford will have a hard task breaking down the Millwall defence who have conceded only 5 so far this season – second only to table-topping Doncaster Rovers.

The Londoners could move up to 3rd if they win, and midfielder Danielle Carlton – who made her debut against Watford last month – thinks their recent encounter should work to their advantage.

She told the club’s official website: “If we are clinical going forward and as solid at the back as we have shown we can be, I think we will put in a strong performance and hopefully pick up the 3 points that have been coming.”

“Watford was actually my first game and I feel like I have improved in the squad dynamic since then. With three 90 minutes under my belt, going into Sunday I feel confident and more than happy that we can do the job and get what we deserve,” Carlton added.

“The team is getting stronger and stronger each week and I can’t wait to see what the season bring.”
