Yeovil return to action as Belles look to secure top spot

London Bees vs. Aston Villa

Victory against Millwall last weekend saw Villa climb the table to the dizzy heights of fourth place where they sit equal on points with third placed Yeovil but behind on goal difference. The Lady Villains will be hoping to make a dent in that gap when they visit London Bees, the team with the worst defensive record in the league, on Sunday.

Yeovil Town vs. Millwall Lionesses

In their first game back since the summer break, Yeovil host Millwall Lionesses who are in desperate need of some points following three defeats on the bounce. Yeovil however are sitting pretty in third place having only lost three times this season to the league’s top two teams, and the Glovers will be wanting to put some distance between themselves and the chasing pack as just four points separate third and seventh place. In an league as unpredictable as this it is of course their opponents Millwall that occupy that seventh spot, and a win for the Lionesses would see them move to fifth.

Oxford United vs. Doncaster Rovers Belles

A thumping 5-0 win for the Belles last time out saw them close the gap on rivals Reading at the top of the WSL 2 table, and with the Royals out of action this weekend, Doncaster could apply the pressure and secure that number one spot – albeit temporarily. Their opponents are no push-overs though and have already proved their worth against this year’s top teams, earning a draw at promotion favourites Reading earlier on in the season. Despite a disappointing defeat to London Bees last weekend, United will still be full of confidence following their run of three wins in the last 5 games.

Watford vs. Durham

Watford currently sit bottom of the WSL2 table following heavy back to back defeats away from home. However, the Hornets are only 3 points behind Sunday’s opponents Durham who would slip down the table should they lose their sixth game in a row. These two sides are yet to meet so far this campaign and both teams will be wanting to get one up on their rivals.
