Jordon Nobbs is close to returning to action following a hamstring injury according to Arsenal Ladies boss Pedro Martinez Losa.
The midfielder picked up the ailment whilst away on international duty at this year’s Women’s World Cup in Canada with England.
The 22-year-old last pulled on an Arsenal shirt back in April but made a welcome return to the bench as an unused substitute against Manchester City on Sunday.
Speaking to BBC Sport Losa said, “We felt there was too much risk with her, and we don’t want to lose again.”
“We were told that she couldn’t play so we have to respect the doctors.
“She is very close. As soon as we can have all the players healthy, we can be more competitive.”
Nobbs, could make her first team return this weekend when the Gunners face Chelsea Ladies in the Continental Cup group stage in a repeat fixture of the midfielder’s last Arsenal performance.
The North London side are currently third in the WSL 1 table but just two points off top spot in what is promising to be a hotly-contested title race.
