WSL 2 bottom two and top two meet in crunch ties

Saturday 5 September

London Bees vs Watford Ladies

The bottom two sides in the WSL 2 side meet each other at The Hive in this weekend’s early kick-off.
Victory for the Bees would see them build an eight point advantage on Watford who would be all but condemned to relegation with a defeat.
However Julian Broomes’ side have lost their last two games 8-0 against the tough opposition of Reading FC Women and Chelsea Ladies in the Continental Cup so morale will be low.
If Watford stand any chance of avoiding a rock bottom finish bottom then they need to pick all three points in this crucial tie – something they’ve only done once this season.

Reading FC Women vs Doncaster Belles

Doncaster can place themselves on the brink of promotion with victory away at second in the league Reading.
With just two points separating the sides, this clash promises to be a thriller.
When the two sides last met back in May it was the Royals who came out 3-0 winners thanks to a double from Lauren Bruton.
However since then, their opponents have moved up the table and positioned themselves in the top spot and could give themselves a 5 point cushion with just 4 games to go, with a win on Saturday.

Sunday 6 September

Durham Women FC vs Yeovil Town Ladies

Yeovil continue their bid for promotion at New Ferens Park knowing a defeat would all but end their already far-fetched aspirations.
The visitors have suffered heavy defeats in the Continental Cup recently, losing 4-0 to Birmingham City and 5-0 against Notts County.
While the home side have also suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat last time out in the league at the hands of Everton.
The two sides are yet to meet this season but victory for the hosts could see them jump up the table to fifth place.

Everton Ladies vs Aston Villa Ladies

Sunday’s fixture at the Select Security Stadium sees fourth play fifth, with the home side just 3 points ahead but with 3 games in hand.
The two sides last met on the opening day of the WSL 2 season with the Merseyside outfit picking up all three points with Elisha N’Dow converting into her own net and Danielle Turner scoring a last
gasp winner.
Villa haven’t won in the league since July, meanwhile Everton have won their last four league games on the bounce.

Millwall Lionesses vs Oxford United Women

Oxford  are aiming to win back to back league games this season for only the second time this season, while Millwall are hoping for an improvement on their last league game which ended in a 5-0 defeat against Doncaster Belles.
The last time these two sides met the Lionesses came from behind to earn themselves a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Grace Fisk and Rinsola Babajide, after Helen King and Ella Franklin-Fraiture had put United 2-0 up.
