WSL 1
Manchester City Women 2-0 Liverpool Ladies
Manchester City piled the pressure on leaders Chelsea as they picked up all three points against Matt Beard’s Liverpool side midweek.
Isobel Christiansen celebrated her first England call-up by opening the scoring after just before half time, finishing from Lucy Bronze’s cross. And when play resumed the Reds looked out of sorts, never really testing Karen Bardsley in the City goal.
Liverpool’s number one, Libby Stout, however had much more to do, first saving from Nikita Parris before denying Christiansen her second of the game.
City then went close again as a corner caused chaos in the visitor’s box and the ball was cleared off the line by Martha Harris, before Natasha Harding was denied by Stout at close range.
After 75 minutes the title contenders finally got the goal they deserved when Georgia Stanway’s cross was met by Harding, whose dink over the goalkeeper doubled her sides lead.
The win for Nick Cushing’s side means they are only two points behind top of the table Chelsea with just two games left to play after going on an impressive 13 game unbeaten run.

Doncaster Belles 3-3 Everton Ladies
It was a six-goal thriller at the Keepmoat Stadium as WSL 2 leaders Doncaster failed to capitalise on their two-goal advantage and hold on to all three points.
Kasia Lipka’s superb 35-yard strike opened the scoring for the hosts on 23 minutes before Courtney Sweetman-Kirk doubled the Belles lead just nine minutes later.
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah pulled a goal back for Everton after heading home from a corner but Sweetman-Kirk looked to have put the game beyond doubt when she smashed home her second of the game and Doncaster’s third.
But with just three minutes of normal time left to play, Ellie Stewart’s long range effort found the back of the net to ensure a nervy finish for the promotion favourites.
Boye-Hlorkah completed the comeback for the visitors after a goal mouth scramble leaving Doncaster just three points ahead of nearest rivals Reading who have a game in hand and a superior goal difference.
