Saturday 26th September
Everton Ladies v Durham Women
Everton Ladies will be hoping for a repeat performance of when they last faced Durham, as they continue to fight for a promotion spot.
The Toffees have an outside chance of reaching the WSL 1 but must win all four of their remaining games. However Andy Spence’s side will take heart from the last time these two sides met, when Everton found the net six times.
That said the Merseyside outfit are yet to win a league game in September but the visitors have conceded eight goals in their previous three games in all competitions.
Sunday 27th September
Watford Ladies v Reading FC
Both sides will be looking for all three points for very different reasona at Berkhamsted FC on Sunday.
If Watford fail to win they will finish the season bottom of the WSL 2. However, victory for Reading and they will secure their promotion to the WSL 1 if other results go their way.
The Hornets will be looking to their recent Continental Cup victory against London Bees for inspiration as they look to end a nine game losing streak in the league.
Those who watch the game could well see some goals as Kelly Chambers’ side have scored the most this season in the WSL 2 while Watford have the worst defensive record.
London Bees v Doncaster Rovers Belles
London Bees could well start a late surge up the league if they beat top of the table Doncaster Belles this weekend, who just need three points to secure top flight football next season.
Doncaster scored five when the two sides last met over four months ago with Sue Smith and Emily Roberts both scoring two goals each.
The Bees won their first league game in two months in their last outing and face a Doncaster side who have recently suffered back to back draws for the first time this season.
Defeat for the visitors could well see them surrender top spot on goal difference with Reading only three points behind the league leaders.
Millwall Lionesses v Aston Villa Ladies
Aston Villa travel to the capital hoping to bag all three points, something they’ve failed to do in their last five league games. But ironically their last league win over two months ago, came against this weekend’s opponents Millwall.
It was a game that ended in drama with two late goals but Millwall will be hoping to seek revenge at home for their 2-1 defeat, despite not having won a league fixture for eight games on the trot.
Yeovil Town Ladies v Oxford United Women
Yeovil will be hoping to extend their six game unbeaten run against fifth place Oxford who are also on an impressive winning streak of four games.
The visitors have scored six goals in their last two outings and will be hoping to make amends for when the sides last met in the league when the Glovers ran out 3-0 winners. The fixture back in April saw Corinne Yorston, Nicola Cousins and Annie Heatherson all getting on the scoresheet.
Defeat for Jamie Sherwood’s side this time however would all but end their promotion hopes with Yeovil sitting in third place, five points behind Reading who have a game in hand.
