Estcourt returned to Reading last year as a 16-year-old from Chelsea’s development side after previously playing for the Royals since the age of just nine. The midfielder’s arrival brought excitement to the club and its supporters, especially those who had been following the club and its youth setup for a number of years and noticed Estcourt’s potential.
Still just 17, Estcourt has already represented Wales five times, making her senior debut in 2015 following successful turnouts at youth level – playing for the U16, U17 and U19 sides.
The teenager combines her football career with her A level studies in PE, Biology and Psychology, and despite leaving to join the Chelsea school of excellence in 2011, she and manager Kelly Chambers are both delighted for her return, and her progress thus far in the blue and white hoops.
A midfielder with an alluring style of play, Estcourt has nothing if not time on her side and early projections see her shining as a WSL and Welsh international stalwart in seasons to come. Definitely a starlet to watch, her attitude and ability are second to none for her youthful years, and it remains to be seen how much of an impact she can have on Reading’s debut campaign in the top flight.
